Alan Coxon's Ancient Recipe Vinegars-
Alan Coxon has spent the past 10 years unearthing the bygone secrets of food. From ancient Greece and Rome to the medieval era, in the spirit of historical sleuthing, he has tracked down specific recipes – and all of it to come up with a very special type of vinegar which has fermented ale as its main ingredient. Trawling through archives and old recipe books, it took him a year to find the right recipes for this trio of vinegars: Ale-Gar, Ancient Greek Vinaigre and Roman Vinaigre. But more importantly, what can you eat it with? “Just about anything,” says Alan. “It works beautifully drizzled over oysters, on cheese, on toast, on strawberries, in beef marinades, or to perk up a tomato sauce.” $22.00.

Guiseppe Giusti Balsamic Vinegars
The Giusti family has been producing vinegar in Modena, Italy, since 1605, and it's said that after centuries of passing down the process via oral tradition, it was this family that first documented the production of balsamic vinegar, known today as the Giusti recipe. Three different one-of-a-kind, limited-production vinegars from the family's gran deposito, or great reserve, line are aged in antique casks, drawing aromas and flavors that have taken centuries to develop. Giusti balsamic need not be drizzled with a heavy hand; just a dash will add dense and full-bodied flavor to your preferred fruit, cheese or dessert.

Merico "Piana Degli Ulivi" Extra Virgin Olive Oil
In the tiny town of Miggiano in southern Puglia, the Maria Rosa Merico family has been making fine olive oils since the 1700s. What began as a medieval mill dug into the rocky earth has become a modern, albeit very small, production facility. The olives are manually harvested early each year while still pungent and green, and milled no more than 8 hours after harvest for an unparalleled freshness. Piana Degli Ulivi is hand bottled in artisan ceramic jars as well as glass bottles. Use as a finishing oil for grilled steaks and fish, drizzle over heirloom tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, or to enjoy simply with the best artisan bread you can find.

Pimm's No. 1
How 'bout a little history with that buzz? Pimm’s No. 1 is a gin-based liqueur flavored with spices and herbs. Created in 1823 by James Pimm to be served at his oyster bar in London, the Pimm’s Cup became so popular that he eventually started bottling the main ingredient following a secret recipe. Weighing in at only 50 proof, Pimm’s No. 1 is not a strong spirit, making the Pimm’s Cup the ideal hot summer refresher—and allowing thirsty fans to indulge in more than one. A “cup” is actually a style of drink usually mixed up in a bowl with fruit, similar to sangria only using hard spirits instead of wine. There is a Pimm’s No. 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 based on other spirits such as Scotch, brandy, rum and so on, but these less popular versions are seasonal or have been phased out. When people talk about Pimm’s, they mean Pimm’s No. 1
